You can design your site as per your choice.||In this case, you are bound to display the branding of WordPress.com on your site’s footer. You can remove this branding if you have a Business or above plan.|
WordPress.Org or WordPress.com, Which one is Better for You?
In my opinion, both are the best platform. But which one is better for you totally depend on you and your goals. What kind of website or blog are you going to create? Your goal is monetization or something else?
You are a technical person or not? You should analyze all the factors. WordPress.org and WordPress.com both are having their own importance and strengths.

The business and eCommerce plan of WordPress.com has so many features and customization factors. If your primary objective is not the monetization of the site then it may the best option for you.
In the Business and eCommerce plan, you can do extra like upload custom plugins, Upload custom themes, Automatic backup, SETP and Database access, Add SEO tools, Remove WordPress.com from footer, etc.
