Google Trends is one of the best and powerful tools. Especially for the beginners who don’t have any keyword tool. However, it may be useful for every bloggers. You can do multiple research and analysis of search terms through this tool.
Google Trends is the product of Google. Through this website, you can analyze and explore the trends of searches in Google.
It may help you to get the best keywords ideas, popular search terms, and many more things. You can even compare the popularity of different keywords.

How to Use Google Trends?
You just simply open Google Trends website. And enter a search term or topic in the search option. For example you want to search the popularity of the term Blog. You just simply write Blog in the search option and enter the key.
You can select the location for which you want to see the keywords popularity or trends. For example you want to understand the scope of a particular key in India, then you should select the location as India.
You can select the time duration for which your want to search the result. There are following option of duration in Google Trends:
- Past Hour
- Past Four Hours
- Past Day
- Past 7 days
- Past 30 days
- Past 90 days
- Past 5 Years
- 2004 – till present
- Customized Time range.
So, you can select the duration according to your need. For example if you select Past 90 days, it will show the result for past 90 days. Like that whatever you select, it will show the result for that particular duration.
You can view the results by category also. There are many categories like Arts & Entertainment, Autos & Vehicle, etc.
As you can see the example image above. When you put a search term or topic and enter, a graph will display. You can select the location, duration, categories and type of search from the above of the graph very quickly.
When you will click on web search, you will see some options including web search. These are the all options:
- Web Search
- Image Search
- News Search
- Google Shopping
- YouTube Search
You can choose the option by simply clicking on it.
You can see the result by sub regions wise also. When you enter the search term, a graph of sub region also displayed. You can explore the graph.
Below the interest by sub region, you can see the results of related topics.
As you can see the example image above. I put the Blog as the topic in the search option. It can help you to find out your related keyword also.
This tool is very helpful for keyword research. Suppose, you want to write a article on a particular topic. You can check the trends and interest of the people on Google Trends before you write the article.
You can also compare the two are more terms in Google trends. You just simply click on compare on the right hand side of first search terms and enter. The comparison of your search terms will be displayed.
This tools may also help you to have some idea about selecting a niche for your blog. For example you have 4 topics and want to select one of them as a niche for your blog. And you want to know the popularity of the topic.
You can check do it by checking the results in Google trends. You can also compare all the five topics and may have better understanding.
