Here are the complete steps to delete your Gmail account. But make sure and download your data before you start the process. You have to follow the following steps to delete.

  • First of all, open google on your browser and Sign In to your Gmail Account.
  • Now click on your profile picture in the top right corner and again click on Manage Your Google Account.
  • Now will have the following options – Home, Personal Info, Data and Privacy, Security, People and Sharing, Payment and Subscription, etc
  • You need to click on Data and Privacy.
  • Now scroll down your page and click on “Data from apps and services you use“.
  • After clicking on it, you will have the option of “Download or delete your data“. Under this, you have two options – Download Your Data and Delete a Google Service.
  • After it, you need to click on Delete a Google Service. And now you might need to Sign In again. So enter your password and sign in.
  • Now next to “Gmail“, click on the Delete option.
  • After it, you need to enter an existing alternate email address and click on send a verification email. This email address should not be a Gmail address.
  • To verify your email address, you may receive an email. Follow the instruction you get in your email and Delete your Gmail account.

With the above process, you can easily delete your Gmail account. However, as I above said, make sure that you are sure to take the steps. Because it would be deleted permanently and you may not be able to recover it later.

What Happens If You Delete Your Gmail Account?

It is an important question, what happens when you delete your Gmail account? When you do it, your all emails and settings associated with your account will be deleted. Your account would be deleted permanently and you would not be able to use it later. After deleting it you can’t send or receive emails in your Gmail account.

And most important, nobody can use your Gmail address in the future. When you erase your Gmail account, you only delete the Gmail service and it would not delete your entire Google account.
