Add WordPress Widgets
Log in to your dashboard and hover on Appearance. When you hover on appearance, the Widgets option will appear. Just click on the Widgets.
After it, a widgets page will be open where you can view all the widgets and the available widgets areas. Available widgets areas will also depend on the theme you installed.
Now from this page, you can add the widgets to your site. As you can see on the example page below.
Let’s suppose you want to add a recent post widget in the main sidebar location. You just simply drag and drop the recent post widget below the main sidebar.
Or you can add through another method also. You just click on the drop-down arrow of the recent post widget and select the main sidebar.
After selecting the main sidebar, just click on add widget.
After adding the widget in the main sidebar location, now you need to do the settings of the widget. Each widget may have different settings. For the setting, click on the drop-down arrow of the recent post widget.
Fill in the required details, and it will automatically be saved. If not, you can click on the save button and click on done.
After it you can refresh your site, your recent post widgets will appear on the main sidebar. For example, you added 5 posts to show, then there will be 5 posts in the recent posts widget.
Like this you can add widgets in WordPress site.
If you want to delete the widget from the area, you just open the widget by clicking on the drop-down arrow of the widget. You just click on the delete option and the widget will be deleted.

You can add and delete widgets in a simple way in WordPress. Suppose, you don’t want a particular widget right now, but you also don’t want to delete it permanently. There is one way to keep your setting and may use it later.
